Why Isn’t the Cessna 180 Certified in the Utility Category?
As one of the undisputed legends of bush flying, the Cessna 180 hauls a load and gets into/out of places most aircraft won't. So why is it certified only in the Normal category and not Utility? Those two terms mean something very specific—and neither one is about what the airplane can actually do.
My buddy flys his 140 from a 6200’ elevation field. When it’s warm, we are pushing 8,500 DA.
It flies well but he flies alone.

I *have* seen some line personnel that appear to be reverse threaded, and I might even resemble that at times. Perhaps easier to operate...
